Celebrating Independence Day 2016

Freedom is not a gift, it is an achievement. On the 70th Independence Day, St. Aloysius High School along with the parishioners of the Church of our Lady of Mount Carmel celebrated the event giving it profound significance.

Our Manager, Rev. Fr. Reuben Tellis along with Headmistresses of the Primary and Secondary Sections and the Supervisor were welcomed to the event with the school band playing a lively tune, trained by Sir Brijesh.

The school children had already assembled on the Ground along with the parishioners. Fr. Reuben Tellis unfurled the National Flag followed by a salute to the Indian Tri Colour and the powerful rendition of the National Anthem.

The Management took the salute as the students of Std. IX and X marched past the dais.

Miss Avantika Pathak delivered a poignant speech in English reminding us about the values of our freedom and the duties of the citizen of India.

The Students of the secondary section sung Patriotic songs which changed the atmosphere with patriotic spirit.

Master Rashid of Std. IV A delivered a speech in Hindi.

Fr. Reuben Tellis led the school in a prayer for the nation.

The event ended with a Vote of Thanks by the Headmistress of the Secondary Section Mrs. Clera Almeida. Sir Neel Foss gave the command of dispersal.

This event was followed by a fellowship with the Manager and the Staff.
